Educational Programmes

PLAY GROUP - Two-year-old Program

Starts from 18 months

This program helps each child feel comfortable in the school environment and makes the separation (Separation Anxiety) from his or her parents as smooth as possible.

At this age, children are becoming more independent and our goal is to help the child develop positive feelings about themselves and daily accomplishments.

  • Learn through play using different themes each week
  • Provide an environment where children explore, play with each other, and learn to share
  • Introduce a wide variety of art and sensory materials, use imaginative play props, and participate in music activities
  • Promote learning how to listen, following directions, and operating as a member of a group
  • Explain the process of learning to express his/her needs by improving language skills

NURSERY - Three-year-old Program

Starts from 2 years 5 months

At this age level, children are very curious about the world around them. Friendships begin to develop and the children learn to express their needs and to listen to the ideas of their peers.

We create an environment that promotes development through play, giving children the opportunity to demonstrate confidence in their own emotional, social, creative, cognitive and physical abilities. We help our three year olds enjoy childhood as they are growing.

  • Giving each child the opportunity to explore and create
  • Learn and practice social skills, improve language skills through communication and problem solve
  • Continue to promote positive behavior by learning to share, take turns, negotiate, compromise, express feelings and use proper manners
  • Child-centered, theme based activities such as community helpers, seasons and simple experiments
  • As play unfolds, teachers identify the interests of the children and plan activities or provide props that expand on these interests
  • Art, music, movement, cooking, and hands-on exploration
  • Manipulative and tactile material use, such as sand, water, rice and beans are used throughout the program

Junior KG - Starts from 3 years 5 months

Senior KG - Starts from 4 years 5 months

Four-year-olds are taught to love learning by being exposed to a wealth of resources and the excitement of using them. Our program strives to foster curiosity and respect for the world around us, while developing co-operation skills, independence, and self-esteem. Learning to problem-solve, improve communication skills, and develop independent thinking are also stressed.

 

Play and learn in small classes with a low teacher-student ratio.

 

Help each child to work as a member of a group, make choices, and feel successful.

 

The classroom environment is structured to provide stimulating child-centered and teacher-supported activities, with many opportunities for the children to make discoveries on their own.

  • Reading readiness is stimulated by a variety of literacy- based activities
  • Writing skills are nurtured and reinforced using Handwriting Without Tears
  • Math and language are taught using Diocesan Early Learning Standards
  • Art, music, and movement are interwoven into the mornings
  • Pre-k classes explore, research, plant and maintain a garden to enrich their learning of how all things grow and to learn the cycle of life
